How to Nourish Together

 

Talk About It.

Talk with friends, family and youth in your life about what brings them joy. The more we recognize what brings joy, calm, and connection into our daily lives now, the easier it is to turn to positive strategies when we are facing adversity.

 

Model It.

When we choose nourishing, even once, people notice – including our children. When we model healthy choices, we may inspire others. And we can offer our kids concrete ways to cope.

It was such a long day at work . . .

  • I need a glass of wine

    OR

  • I need a walk and I would love some company

 

Plan It.

We can try making a list of nourishing activities to do with others… like a monthly lunch with friends, a weekly board game night, or a family walk on Sundays. By having a routine, we don’t have to make the decision in the moment — it has already been made.
